Welcome to the blog

Why we're writing this, who it's for, and what you can expect: practical notes on running a clinic, not vendor hype.

We build clinic software — scheduling, records, billing, a patient portal, and the AI tooling that sits around them. This blog is where we write about that work, and about the operational side of running a clinic that the software has to serve.

What this is

Expect posts on things like:

  • How specific features work, and the tradeoffs behind them
  • Notes from clinics using The Clinic day to day — what worked, what didn't
  • Compliance and interoperability topics (HIPAA, FHIR, insurance rails) written for the people who have to deal with them, not just engineers
  • Product changes, as they ship, with plain explanations of what changed and why

What this isn't

We're not going to publish "10 tips to grow your practice" listicles or repackage generic healthcare-industry news. If a post doesn't teach you something specific about running a clinic or using the product, we'd rather not publish it.

A note on how these posts get written

Some posts here are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a person before they go out — we'd rather be upfront about that than pretend otherwise. Every post is read and approved by someone at The Clinic before it's published; nothing goes out unreviewed.

If there's a topic you'd like us to cover — a feature you want explained, a workflow you're stuck on — reach out. We're a small team building software we use ourselves, and the more specific the ask, the better we can answer it.
